• Account information: email address, display name, and encrypted password.
• Learning data: lessons completed, XP earned, quiz answers, and lesson progress.
• Simulated trading data: virtual portfolio holdings and transactions (no real money is ever involved).
• Usage data: page views and session activity via Vercel Analytics (anonymised).

3. How we use your data

• To operate your account and personalise your learning experience.
• To display your progress, XP, and rank on the leaderboard.
• To send account-related emails (e.g. email confirmation, password reset).
• To improve the product using aggregated, anonymised usage data.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data sharing

We share data only with the third-party services required to operate Blue Scoops:

• Supabase — database and authentication (data stored in the US).
• Vercel — hosting and analytics.
• Google Gemini API — AI-powered lesson and chat features (your messages may be processed by Google).
• Finnhub / Yahoo Finance — real-time and historical market data (no personal data sent).

5. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us.

6. Children's privacy

Blue Scoops is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
